Maintaining Healthy Behaviour Initiative is a brain child of Center for the Right to Health under the SHiPs for MARPs Project, holistic HIV/AIDS intervention targeting female sex workers, men who have sex with men and people who inject drugs.

Maintaining Healthy Behaviour Initiative (MhBI) is a health advocacy/support non- profit community based organization created for young people by young people especially the most at risk populations in Lagos. Our mission is to promote the wellbeing and advocate for MARPs (MARM, PWID AND FSW) through capacity building, research and documentation to achieve a sustainable behavior change. MBI envisions an empowered MARPs community in the context of the right to health.Establishing a MARPS Community Based organization is one of the core deliverable for Centre for the Right to Health who has the mandate to work with People who inject drugs (PWID) and Most at Risk Men (MaRM) under the five year SHiPS project. Achieving this objective is the first line plan for sustainability of the project and to increase the force of dedicated organization working for high number of teeming MARPs  in Lagos. Centre for the Right to Health Lagos under the SHiPS project have taken concrete steps in initiating for the establishing of the CBO among PWID and MaRM through advocacy meetings with stake holders at the community and local government level, community dialogue, joint MARPs interactive forum and CBO strengthening meetings. There has been a strong positive indication that the proposed CBO establishment had received a warm welcome by the MARPs  and other stakeholders in the  community since the project intensive phase started. Center for the Right to Health as the parent organization of MBI envisions a Nigeria in which quality health-care is affordable and accessible; where patients are treated with dignity and their human rights respected irrespective of gender, age, social status or disease condition. Its mission is to advocate for the full realization of the right to health in Nigeria and to promote respect for ethics and human rights in health-care policies and practices, especially for vulnerable groups such as People Living With HIV/AIDS, women, youths and children.

Volunteer Position Description

Position Title: Front Desk Helper

Purpose: The position of Front Desk Helper serves as the receptionist and supporting the organizations

Mission and vision statement. The Front Desk Helper represents the organization to the public who visit or contact the organization’s main offices Monday to Friday from 8

A.m. to 4 p.m.

Location: The Front Desk Helper works in the public reception area of the organization’s main office

Key Responsibilities:

The Front Desk Helper answers the main phone line and directs calls

Greets guests and directs them to shelter offices or locations

Answers questions about the shelter and provides forms when necessary

Makes reminder phone calls to other volunteers who are assigned to projects for the following day

Opens the mail and distributes it

Records donations that come in and enters them in the database

Helps prepare bulk mailings

Prepares correspondence as needed

Other duties as assigned

Responsible to: Assistant Director.

Length of Appointment: The Front Desk Helper is assigned to one day per week for a period of three months. After three months, the Front Desk Helper may be reappointed for another three months at the discretion of the supervisor.

After six months, the person who is serving as Front Desk Helper may rotate to another position within the agency.

Time Commitment:  (Monday to Friday) for eight hours (8 a.m.-4 p.m.), for minimum of three months.

Qualifications: Basic knowledge of computer and data entry. Pleasant manner, patience, problem-solving ability, dependability.

Support: Training for this position will be provided. In addition, the Assistant Director will be available for questions and assistance.

Background

Under the overall guidance of the National Project Director and direct supervision of the Project, the M&E Officer will be responsible for the monitoring and ensuring high quality and timely inputs, and for ensuring that the project maintains its strategic vision and that its activities result in the achievement of its intended outputs in a cost effective and timely manner. 
The M&E officer will be responsible for designing and implementing the M&E activities of the Project; assisting the Project Manager in preparing Quarterly/Annual reports on project progress and will monitor the project activities on a regular basis, developing and maintaining the MIS of the Project and will be responsible for the collection & analysis of different data in relation to the project activities.
The Monitoring and Evaluation Officer works in close collaboration with work closely with project team and CO programme and operations clusters, Government officials, private sector, non-government and civil society organizations. 


Duties and Responsibilities

The Monitoring and Evaluation Officer will have the following duties and responsibilities:

•Develop and strengthen monitoring, inspection and evaluation procedures 
•Monitor all project activities, expenditures and progress towards achieving the project output;
•Recommend further improvement of the logical frame work;
•Develop monitoring and impact indicator for the project success; 
•Monitor and evaluate overall progress on achievement of results;
•Monitor the sustainability of the project's results;
•Provide feedback to the Project Manager on project strategies and activities;
•Suggest strategies to the Project Management for improving the efficiency and effectiveness of the project by identifying bottlenecks in completing project activities and developing plans to minimize or eliminate such bottlenecks; 
•Report monthly, quarterly, half-yearly and annual progress on all project activities to the National Project Director/Project Manager; 
•Conduct capacity assessment on existing monitoring and evaluation system Develop indicators and a monitoring strategy for the project;
•Provide inputs, information and statistics for quarterly, annual and other reports to Project Management Team;
•Participate in annual project reviews and planning workshops and assist the Project Manager in preparing relevant reports;
•Support monitoring and evaluation of the effects and impact of the project;
•Assist in coordinating across the available components of the Project to ensure effective implementation of M&E/MIS;
•Assist the project personnel with M&E tools and in supporting them in their use. 
•Perform other duties as required;

IV. Measurable Outputs and Performance Indicators

•Preparation of monthly MIS reports;
•Assist the Project Manager in preparing other relevant reports;
•Organize and conduct training on M&E/MIS for project and government staff
•Assist Project Manager in the preparation of reports on the findings and lessons learned from project innovations;
•Provide input and update information related to project outcome in MhBI website; 
•Assist Project Manager in preparing monthly and quarterly reports on project progress based on MIS reports on project activities;
•Prepare Issues Log and Risk Log for the project;
•Develop M&E system for the Project and for the government counterpart/stakeholders;
•Prepare and maintain data base

•Experience in designing tools and strategies for data collection, analysis and production of reports; 
•Proven ICT skills, especially in the development of MIS software using database software; 
•Expertise in analyzing data using statistical software;
•Strong training & facilitation skills.

Language Requirements: 
Fluency in written and spoken English.
